Ever get the blahs?
I know I have.
It feels like life is crushing you down. You want to dig your way out, but you just can’t seem to get moving and what good does anything do anyway?
Life is tough, complicated and relentless.
It just keeps piling on when you are down and holidays, smiling people and joy all around can sometimes just make you feel worse.
You think the new year will be filled with nothing but tax headaches, legal headaches, things breaking down, broken friendships, people that just don’t care and who let you down or worse yet just do nothing to show you that you are loved and appreciated.
You think … I’m not the problem here! The world is!
Want a cure for that feeling?
Here’s my suggestion …
Try doing something.
Now I know you are doing things right now.
You are are probably breathing and likely thinking, trying, worrying, blaming, aching, moaning and groaning.
That’s not what I’m talking about.
I’m talking about DOING something and I don’t care what as long as it meets two criteria.
1. It needs to be positive.
2. It needs to make a difference.
- Say something nice to someone
- Open the door for someone
- Encourage someone
- Donate your time or money
- Visit someone elderly
- Listen to someone
And if you are thinking …
I’m the one having the problems here! I’m the one who needs help! People should be reaching out to me!
Just for one week, one day, one hour, one minute if that’s all you can manage …. forget that part.
Because if you are making a difference for someone else…
You’re worth something.
And eventually you’ll figure that out.
And that makes life so much better.
