This is a bonus interview with Brendon Burchard in a series of podcasts about creating massive impact for your ideas, products and services and making a real difference in a very noisy world. If you haven’t listened to previous podcasts you might want to start with Episode One. In this podcast Brendon and Ken talk about partnerships, collaboration, joint ventures and how to reach masses of people to change lives.
HI Ken, I just listened to your interview with Brendon. Great info. Both you and Brendon are two of the most giving people in Internet marketing, so this isn’t meant to be anything but an observation: I really don’t think that your average person starting out trying to make it big is just looking for a handout because someone else has a big list. I think it’s that they truly don’t know what they have to offer.
Sure, they’d love access to your knowledge and your list, but when they approach most of the big players, they are asked to pay them a $10 consulting fee, which is out of the question because they don’t have 10K. They don’t have the money and they don’t have a big list, so they don’t have something to offer that can help you. They aren’t selfish, just broke. So how can I help either of you?
I believe that anyone can get the attention of a top-level marketer — without paying a 10K consulting fee — if they can get a cup of coffee.
Top-level people want to hang around with the same kind of people YOU do. People who think of YOU first, who under promise and over deliver. People who do what they say they are going to do.
If someone goes out of their way to be considerate, kind, giving and thoughtful, that goes a long way.
Does that mean they owe you?
Absolutely not.
Notice in the interview that Brendon is always thinking of how he can benefit the organizations he works with.
I appreciate your asking how you can help, but the truth is YOU know the answer to that question best.
Look for ways to help and they won’t be hard to find. Everyone can use some help after all.
If you ask someone, they may be able to come up with something, but how much more powerful is it when you DO something helpful for someone without asking.
Thinking you don’t have anything to offer is a self-limiting belief. We all have so much we can give.
Do you remember the last time someone shared one of your posts, commented in a positive way or made a powerful introduction?
I do.
And so do most people on the receiving end.
But, also consider whether you are a match. If you are pushing life insurance, I’m not likely to recommend your product.
Find the people who ARE the perfect match. Do helpful and unexpected things and CREATE some value. You can do that from scratch with no money involved if you put your heart, mind and time into it.
Thanks for the reply Ken – I shared this post on the WebStores facebook page and twitter! I appreciate the clarification as I heard this comment from multiple people at jvalert live and knew you’d want to address it.
Hi Ken…the timing for this couldn’t have been better with all that’s been happening for me personally lately.
Every once in a while, if life throws you a curve ball, we need to “realign” our priorities based on not only what we want or need, but also how we can help others in the process.
I’ll definitely share this because I think everyone can benefit from the message you both share here.
Looking forward to talking again in person soon!
Ken
That was great 🙂 shared……
Thanks so much Snowfazam!
